The following Terms and Conditions are specific to the ReliMail Email Security Product/Service and forms part of the Universal Service Terms that are part of the ReliMail Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Disclaimer (and have been linked respectively).
1. Definitions
The following definitions is provided digitally/electronically as a service by ReliMail through the Email Security Product/Service.
- “Advanced Threat Protection” also known as (ATP) is a security solution that prevents, detects and defends against sophisticated malware or hacking-based attacks targeting sensitive data or trying to circumvent traditional security solutions such as antivirus, firewalls, and IPS/IDS;
- “Anti-Spam” refers to services and solutions that focus on blocking and mitigating the effects of illegal emails – or spam – on email users;
- “Anti-Virus” means a software or program or set of programs that are designed to prevent, search for, detect, and remove software viruses, and other malicious software like worms, trojans, adware, and more.;
- “Data Loss Prevention” also known as (DLP) is a set of tools and processes used to ensure that sensitive data is not lost, misused, or accessed by unauthorized users.;
- “DMARC” means to communicate in a friendly and/or formal way through an internet enabled smart device;
- “End-to-End Encryption” prevents email communication being decrypted during transit between sender and receiver, by encrypting information at the start of its journey and only deciphering it upon arrival at the device of an authorized recipient;
- “Impersonation Attacks” means an attack in which an adversary successfully assumes the identity of one of the legitimate parties in the system or in a communication protocol;
- “MTA-STS” also known as SMTP Mail Transfer Agent Strict Transport Security is a new standard that aims to improve the security of SMTP by enabling domain names to opt into strict transport layer security mode that requires authentication (valid public certificates) and encryption (TLS);
- “Phishing” means a type of social engineering where an attacker sends a fraudulent message designed to trick a human victim into revealing sensitive information to the attacker or to deploy malicious software on the victim’s infrastructure like ransomware.;
- “Ransomware” means a type of malware from cryptovirology that threatens to publish the victim’s personal data or perpetually block access to it unless a ransom is paid.;
- “S/MIME” A set of specifications for securing electronic mail. S/MIME is based upon the widely used MIME standard and describes a protocol for adding cryptographic security services through MIME encapsulation of digitally signed and encrypted objects. The basic security services offered by S/MIME are authentication, non-repudiation of origin, message integrity, and message privacy. Optional security services include signed receipts, security labels, secure mailing lists, and an extended method of identifying the signer’s certificate(s).
- “Spear-Phishing” means an email or electronic communications scam targeted towards a specific individual, organization or business. Although often intended to steal data for malicious purposes, cybercriminals may also intend to install malware on a targeted user’s computer.;
- “TLS” also known as Transport Layer Security a cryptographic protocol that provides end-to-end security of data sent between applications over the Internet.
2. Email Security as a Service
ReliMail and its Products/Services are all Cloud Based and serves over the Public Internet. ReliMail is a Email Security as a Service (ESaaS) provider meaning that it provides the following software services under this agreement:
- Email Security Service that is associated to an Organizations Domain through the ReliMail Mobile & Desktop Email Client:
- End-to-End Encryption
- Automated-Advanced-Threat-Protection
- Data Loss Prevention
- Phishing & Spear-Phishing Protection
- Ransomware Protection
- Impersonation Attacks Protection
- Attachment & URL Protection
- DMARC
- MTA-STS
- Anti-Spam
- Anti-Virus
3. Customer Responsibilities
ReliMail can only perform the Service if Customer provides required information or performs required actions, otherwise ReliMail’s performance of the Service may be delayed, impaired or prevented, and/or eligibility for Service Level Agreement benefits may be voided as noted below.
- Setup Enablement: Customer must provide information required for ReliMail to begin providing the Service.
- Adequate Customer Personnel: Customer must provide adequate personnel to assist ReliMail in delivery of the Service, upon reasonable request by ReliMail.
- Customer is responsible for internal organizational measures relating to:
- Employees visiting unsolicited web pages while using the ReliMail Email Infrastructure and/or Email Client that could cause malware injections.
- Employees are responsible for their own mobile and desktop devices and ReliMail has no control over how Employees use them.
- Customer and its Employees will not use the ReliMail service to cause:
- Malicious or unsolicited conetnt to be sent;
- Send Illegal or Criminal content;
- Send Pornographic or Propaganda related content;
- Customer is responsible for its account information, password, or other login credentials.
- Customer agrees to use reasonable means to protect the credentials and will notify ReliMail immediately of any known unauthorized use of Customer account.
- Renewal Credentials: If applicable, Customer must apply renewal credential(s) provided in the applicable Subscription Instrument or Order Confirmation within its account administration, to continue to receive the Service, or to maintain account information and Customer data which is available during the Service Term.
- Customer Configurations vs. Default Settings: Customer must configure the features of the Service through the management console, if applicable, or default settings will apply. In some cases, default settings do not exist and no Service will be provided until Customer chooses a setting. Configuration and use of the Service(s) are entirely in Customer’s control, therefore, ReliMail is not liable for Customer’s use of the Service, nor liable for any civil or criminal liability that may be incurred by Customer as a result of the operation of the Service.
- Customer must ensure they have a valid Anti-Virus Software installed on their Desktop and/or Mobile Devices to aid in the prevention of Malicious or unsolicited content.
4. Security Exclusion
- The Service may not be able to scan attachments with contents which are upon the direct control of the sender (e.g., password protected or encrypted attachments). The Service is available to Customers whose e-mail systems are permanently connected to the Internet with a fixed IP address. It cannot be provided to Customers whose e-mail systems are connected to the Internet via dial-up lines or whose IP addresses are dynamically allocated.
- ReliMail provide the Services with due care and skill, but we do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted or fault-free.
- ReliMail makes use of 3rd party services to aid in the protection against Viruses and Spam and rely on their database to be updated accordingly and can make provision to stop all known threats and viruses recorded in the malware database.
- ReliMail will not be functional without Internet Access.
- ReliMail will not be functional on a Non-Smart Device.
